Focus on Recycling and a Circular Economy

Waste is sorted and partially processed on site to reduce transportation costs and environmental impact. Inkaterra collaborates with the community to develop innovative solutions for plastic, organic waste, and glass.

The Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel supports local agriculture and short supply chains. Fruit, vegetables, herbs, and tea are grown on the property. Kitchen waste is used to produce biodiesel, ensuring efficient reuse of resources.

Yes, children are welcome and the hotel offers programmes designed especially for them. There are no additional fees if you are travelling with a child under the age of 12. A surcharge applies for the second child. For children aged 12 and over, an additional charge for an extra bed will apply.

The hotel is located about eight kilometers from the historic Inca site of Machu Picchu. Buses run roughly every 15 minutes from the nearby village to the wonder of the world before sunset (it costs about $24 per person round-trip). The last bus leaves at 5:30 p.m., but you can also walk to the site and take the bus back.

The easiest way to reach the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is to take the train from Cusco or Ollantaytambo to the Machu Picchu Pueblo station. From there, the hotel is only a two-minute walk away, and you can have your luggage conveniently transported from the station to the hotel and back. The hotel is also only a ten-minute walk from the town’s bus stop.

To ensure the most relaxing stay possible, we recommend traveling during the dry months from April to October. Of those months, April, May, and October are best for sustainable travel, as the other months are peak season and the World Heritage Site is especially crowded. However, if you don’t mind the rain and prefer peace, you may want to consider traveling during the rainy season from December to April, when there are more opportunities for adventure.

The Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is located at a relatively low altitude in the Cusco region of Peru. While this reduces the risk of altitude sickness, it does not eliminate it. Therefore, the Inkaterra Hotel recommends taking it easy, especially during the first few days. This includes eating less, avoiding alcohol, and drinking plenty of fluids. Thanks to its relatively low altitude, the hotel is an ideal place to acclimate before heading to higher elevations in the region.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in all rooms and the lobby. However, the connection is stronger in some rooms than in others. For the best connection, go to the lobby. Computers are also available for free in the hotel café, which you can use for 30 minutes every day.

The Inkaterra Machu Picchu Hotel’s UNU Spa offers a wide range of treatments, including facial masks, hot stone therapy, and various locally inspired massages and rituals. Additionally, you are welcome to use the traditional Andean sauna.
